les misérables
I see you going back to your strongest arsenal in these exterior wooden structures. These are mesmerizing to look at. The attention to detail and the way you've converted some furni to only use parts of their details is simply fascinating to look at and analyze. You did your play more than proud. This is my favourite room of the week. Welcome to the finale.

Any enthusiast looking at this design would be able to tell what your prompt was. You took idealistic aspects of the original play and accurately portrayed them within the confines of our task. The room looks fantastic. The stacking you incorporated is definitely your strong point. There are so many beautiful additions to your concept that are hidden in plain sight and I commend you on that. The shape of the room and overall construction and attention to detail, is what allows me to say that you’re a worthy competitor and will be progressing to the finale. Great work.

death of a salesman
You had one of my favourite plays and you did its set design justice. Your interpretation of the house is really interesting. I love the way you organized each section of the "house" in different heights while still maintaining a forced colour palette. Simply exquisite. That being said I find the off-stage section to be a bit lacking. Still though, that can be disregarded when you have this magnificent design for the set to compare. Welcome to the finale.

The simple and free forming flow of your set is created quite nicely. The intricate stacking and use of unconventional furniture to capture your given prompt is great to see. The behind the scenes aspect is so simple yet it gives you enough functionality to assess it as being not on-stage. The overall room aesthetic and palpable colour scheme emanates from your creativity and still captures your playwright. The pillars and use of curtains set the tone of your build and were great additions to some of the more minimal elements you added. Overall your creative and inspiring design willed us the option to progress you into the final 3. Well done.

Deathbrand
cabaret
Such a unique take on constructing the behind the scenes underneath the set design. The details that went in it are to die for. I had a blast analyzing it. That being said I do have a few issues with the main set. It does portray the general feel of the cabaret but it also misses the mark. The choices on furni and color gives it a rustic/western vibe. I'd have loved to see a more refined glamour aesthetic woven into it. Overall this is a really strong room and it breaks my heart to give you a low score but at this point in the competition every little detail matters.

I really enjoy how you decided to tackle the behind the scenes aspect of this task. For going behind the stage, and working underneath was a great decision. The curtains leading over to the dressing room as well as the stairs leading up to the stage, fantastic. I find that though there are so many design choices I attribute to cabaret, the mark was missed in terms of combining them all into a set for a play. Some of the elements seem redundant and don’t fit into the space as organically as I would have hoped. The overall thematics of the playwright are prevalent I just wish the execution was more refined. Stacking the stage details the same as the behind the scenes might have fared better. Overall this build still holds up as following the guidelines, I just don’t see it progressing you into the final 3 at this stage in the competition.

the crucible
What a marvelous take on the task. Changing the isometric angle was pure genius. The set perfectly captures the requirements of the play. Giving us the hidden mechanics of the set pieces was a great decision. The behind-the-scenes feels a bit overworked. You did overthink and stress about it way too much. The previous versions were more than fine. (if not somewhat better in my opinion) That being said, this room is inspirational and creative and I welcome you to the finale.

I love the approach you took towards this weeks task. Perspective was key and you showed us something unique. The audience being displayed through the curtains was brilliant. Not to mention the scene in which you created is on par with what the original playwright evokes. The set is so simple but concocted in a way that shows all the key aspects, and that’s what I find so interesting with your build. Your behind the scenes aspect ties into the overall construction naturally. It does look disjointed. This is a room worthy of progressing you into the final 3. Very well done.
